Slow and steady wins the race? Man, I hope so. I have been making the slowest possible trek through this list. I think I got so caught up with training for a 5k so that I could mark that one off that everything else took a back seat. Still, I want to go over a quick update on the couple of things that I did complete and maybe the little pat on the back will encourage me to knuckle down and get through some more.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Lose 10 pounds</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is pretty heavily tied in to running the 5k. I started training for the 5k around the end of January. At the time I weighed in at 175 pounds. I was pretty down because that's the most I've ever weighed and I know a main factor was all of the junk food that I ate after moving down here and we were temporarily kitchenless. The weight gain seemed so slow that it was easy to rationalize the crap food at the time because I didn't notice the effects for a while. I'm not a healthy eating idol or anything but that was definitely a low point. So by adding in 4 to 5 times a week of running/walking as I built up my endurance for the 5k I was able to totally shed my 10 pounds. In fact, as of now I'm at 159 pounds. So yay me for losing 16 pounds so far!! So now I want to update my goal to lose about 15 or 20 more pounds by the end of the year. That would put me around 140 which is my goal weight and one that I haven't been in about 10 years.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
8. Have toys for sale at the consignment shop in town</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I mentioned in a <a href="http://thebookcollectorswife.blogspot.com/2012/04/white-squirrel.html">previous post</a> I completed a super cute white squirrel toy and put it up in the consignment shop in town. They let me know about a week ago that it actually sold and the woman was interested in buying more! I've got a second one almost finished. It's just missing the eyes because I've somehow managed to lose one of the backings and can't find it anywhere in the house. I may have to order some more online before I can finish it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
12. Run a 5k</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm totally most proud of having completed this one. I'm planning to frame my number and be a super geek about forever. I still don't think I'd really consider myself a runner but, sort of contradicting that, I've been seriously thinking about pushing myself so that I can run a 10k this year. I'm still slow but I'm constantly amazed that I can run for over 30 minutes and not die. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
24. Read <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Dance-Dragons-Song-Fire-Book/dp/0553801473/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338942803&sr=8-1">A Dance With Dragons</a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was the first item that I was able to check off the list. I love me some reading and George R.R. Martin is crazy good so this was much more pleasurable to complete than losing weight or running. When Chris gave me the book for my birthday last year I was excited but I also, stubbornly, decided that I wanted to reread the entire series in order to truly appreciate the newest book. So that meant rereading four other books, each clocking in at around 1000 pages and now that I no longer have a couple of hours on the subway to read it took forever. Still, I'm glad that I reread them and I loved the new book. That man can write sci-fi like nobody's business.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<u>In The Works</u></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The house is being painted as we speak! He started about a week ago and it looks badass. I'll put up some before and after shots when it's all done.<br />
<br />
I have started a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Q-A-Day-5-Year-Journal/dp/0307719774/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338999506&sr=8-1">one sentence a day journal</a> that I've kept up consistently for about two weeks so that's something.<br />
<br />
The stitch and bitch, roller derby, transylvania handcrafter's guild meeting, and next meteor shower are all on my calendar over the next month.</div>Jeannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10031893675498917649noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-43761325690519552122012-05-30T08:00:00.000-04:002012-05-30T09:29:32.554-04:00Squirrel Making<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A few months ago I decided to try my hat at creating my own toy pattern. I wasn't trying to make something revolutionary but just something simple with simple shaping and one color. The little town that I live in celebrates a <a href="http://brevardnc.org/white-squirrel-festival/">White Squirrel Festival</a> each year and the owner of the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Lil.Bo.tique.Brevard">consignment shop</a> in town had been asking me if I knew how to make a white squirrel toy so I took up the challenge and decided I would make a pattern for a white squirrel. Above are Chris' and my sketches to try and determine the general shape. Evil Patrick is not related to squirrel making but rather a creepy manifestation of Chris' psyche.<br />
<br />
The sketching helped me a lot with visualizing where I should be adding increases and decreases and was a great reference to look back at as I went so that I could judge whether I was really heading in the right direction. You can see where I scribbled notes as I went to keep track of what I was doing and, when it wasn't working, scratch it all out and start over. I definitely need more practice to get the hang of making up my own toy pattern. While I like how this turned out I feel that I hit a better cat note than I did squirrel. My next step is to modify the pattern to make a pirate squirrel like the one drawn near evil Patrick. I always loved making pirate monkeys and I think that pirate squirrels will be pretty damn cute, too. Really, everything looks better when dressed as a pirate. I think it's the eye patch.<br />
<br />
The in progress and finished squirrel are below. I'm super happy with the tail although I think I could have stitched a Swiffer on it's butt and saved myself about 3 hours of tedium. In the finished product I also added a jaunty little scarf because the squirrel just seemed like it needed something to break up all that white. Plus it makes it look sophisticated and jet-setting and, really, don't squirrels sort of look that way in real life? Something about a fluffy tail makes an animal look fancy.<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Earlier this year I made a list of 30 things that I wanted to do by the time I turned 30. I've got an update coming later this week but one of the things that I'm most proud of is that as of Saturday I checked off #12: Run a 5k. This was no easy task for me. I'm a total couch potato, never very athletic and after having moved to NC and spending 6 months living without a kitchen I'd gained a fair bit of weight.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There were two or three points last year when I tried getting into the couch to 5k program but I usually burnt out by week 3 or 4. In January, after making this list, I committed. I started running with the <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.guyhoffman.c25k.pro&hl=en">C25K Pro App</a> on my phone 4 to 5 times a week. It's interval training and starts out with really short runs of just a minute or so at a time but I remember even that seemed grueling at first. The absolute worst was when I hit the day like 6 weeks in when the plan just says run for 20 minutes. It pulls out the safety net of a minute or two of walking somewhere in the middle there. I remember when I finished that jog for the first time that I texted Chris saying that I had run for 20 minutes and not died. That alone was pretty awesome.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So after a couple of months of training I have finally run my first 5k. As you can see by the photos I made it from beginning to end and somehow managed to look happier after running up the hills of NC. I went into the race with one goal: run the whole time, no walking. If you'd seen some of those hills you'd know what a task that was. Although I didn't win a medal or run any amazing time I met my goal and couldn't be happier. Part of me is also proud just to have managed to get to the start line by 8am. I'm not a morning person. I've never run a single morning before because whatever my best intentions I cannot respect an alarm that wants me up before 10am.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I ran the course in <a href="http://carolinarunner.wordpress.com/2012/05/26/results-of-the-white-squirrel-5k-may-26-2012-brevard-nc/">37 minutes 24 seconds</a> all while listening to a <a href="http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/hsw-shows/popstuff-podcast.htm">Twilight Podcast by Pop Stuff</a> from How Stuff Works. I know everyone makes play lists when they run with music that's fast and motivating with good beats and whatever but I love me a podcast. Most of my couch to 5k was spent listening to the guys on <a href="http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/hsw-shows/stuff-you-should-know-podcast.htm">Stuff You Should Know</a> and giggling a little as I ran. It might explain why I'm not very fast. Josh and Chuck may be super entertaining but they don't really have a great beat. For me though they were a great distraction from my mind's constant reminder that I don't have to run. No one is making me run. I could walk now or now or now or anytime I want and zombies won't get me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking of zombies, I am desperately psyched for an app called <a href="https://www.zombiesrungame.com/">Zombies, Run!</a> that's coming out on Android next month. It could be a great motivator for upping my speed a little. In the game you're a runner for a town after there's been a zombie apocalypse. You go into town for supplies to keep the survivors alive. As you run the game will chime in with supplies you've picked up and warnings of zombie hordes! If you're being chased you actually have to speed up to outrun the attack and live. You can even hear the zombies in your ear buds! The app is way pricey but I've got to say it sounds like wicked fun and I've got the ladies at Pop Stuff to thank for mentioning it in their running podcast.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now that I've checked off running a 5k from my list I think I'm going to go for a 10k. I'm not sure that I'll ever consider myself a serious runner but I think that I may like it. Plus, I've lost about 15 pounds since January and I just feel healthier. Chris was asking me where I was planning to go after the 5k run a few weeks ago and the conversation somehow ended in a ridiculous bet. We agreed that if he runs a 5k I'll run a marathon. I may have started liking running but I will say that marathons seem like complete madness to me but I do know my husband and I feel like this is probably a pretty safe bet for me. Although I'd love to see him get healthier I've got my fingers crossed that he chooses biking instead.</div>Jeannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10031893675498917649noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-29498454965371922322012-04-26T20:22:00.000-04:002012-04-26T20:22:29.274-04:00White Squirrel<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been talking with the super nice owners of the local <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Lil.Bo.tique.Brevard">consignment shop</a> in town for a few months about trying to get some stuff in their store but I've been so crunched for time that I've put it off until now. Every year this little town has a <a href="http://whitesquirrelfestival.com/">White Squirrel Festival</a> and when I ran into the consignment shop owner a few weeks ago he told me his wife has been desperately seeking white squirrels. They forwarded me a link to the pattern that they'd found online at <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/grey-squirrel">Pixie Kitten</a>. It was so crazy cute that I bought the pattern and made my own little white squirrel. I finally finished it up the other day and dropped it off at the shop this morning where it stands as a one of a kind toy (until I get around to making some more). White squirrels are so hugely popular here that I think these would sell crazy well. So one down, dozens more to go!</div>Jeannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10031893675498917649noreply@blogger.com0Asheville, NC, USA35.6009452 -82.55401535.4976602 -82.7119435 35.7042302 -82.39608650000001tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-34631341382333583962012-04-26T20:14:00.000-04:002012-04-26T20:24:23.444-04:0030 by 30<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">Recently, I embraced the idea of making a 30 by 30 list. I just wanted to share the list and I'll get an update on here soon since I've actually managed to knock a couple of these off the list so far!</span></span></div>

I figured that this would give me some experience with very simple toy making while, hopefully, creating some cute little toys that I can give as gifts. My first attempt was the king himself, Elvis Presley. I looked around online for profile shots of him that really emphasized the pompadour. I settled on this one:</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh32NbgbY8i_46hqbfdDxqA0HNCtUXhzIWtRy723v5jpx-o8ZyBcVBKwzDz3xm5VRtRQDczrT5qM8srzxhsQhKrJ9PxltGu7DrN7oMm_cGSmeJW1Yy4B-g7Ct1QfQ_z7vuZPfcylLtzX0rG/s1600/elvis3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh32NbgbY8i_46hqbfdDxqA0HNCtUXhzIWtRy723v5jpx-o8ZyBcVBKwzDz3xm5VRtRQDczrT5qM8srzxhsQhKrJ9PxltGu7DrN7oMm_cGSmeJW1Yy4B-g7Ct1QfQ_z7vuZPfcylLtzX0rG/s320/elvis3.jpg" width="314" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>I printed it, cut it out and played around with resizing on the copier until I had to a size that I thought was big enough. It ended up covering two sheets of paper that I cut out and taped together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9vwU_a36DU6Sf_MrywnBN_hF_4a3Fg6WtUsysc3POgrFn1VR0e4TVad3OYDM-cea0CIMDukfGNdHwLJlLASORnUTuDqrcbAvc6M_F5bLpY07kZ1_ccBDjVicT2rG_Xad78T6J1TuDNqPp/s1600/FeltElvis1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9vwU_a36DU6Sf_MrywnBN_hF_4a3Fg6WtUsysc3POgrFn1VR0e4TVad3OYDM-cea0CIMDukfGNdHwLJlLASORnUTuDqrcbAvc6M_F5bLpY07kZ1_ccBDjVicT2rG_Xad78T6J1TuDNqPp/s320/FeltElvis1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Once I had the template done I pinned it to a square of good quality felt and cut around it. Repeat. Next I pinned the halves together and had a go around the edges with the sewing machine leaving a space for me to turn it right side out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1OWS-nyEfq2HMrGUyQMLYrd4hhZvhN6R6Xiba8-2Jp-0H3HzMAdk718kMvGPCvr3wiuXNC5W7HDK_4YAdk7m5ljDE8ZZlns1aJFf6N9RZ04ONGv7qjiwTFLPUygSYdkga4KZ-g9Aeh_ne/s1600/FeltElvis2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1OWS-nyEfq2HMrGUyQMLYrd4hhZvhN6R6Xiba8-2Jp-0H3HzMAdk718kMvGPCvr3wiuXNC5W7HDK_4YAdk7m5ljDE8ZZlns1aJFf6N9RZ04ONGv7qjiwTFLPUygSYdkga4KZ-g9Aeh_ne/s320/FeltElvis2.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><br />
Unfortunately, the final result looks nothing like Elvis and had some sewing issues that I'm going to have to try and work out with practice. The curve to the back of the head had a lot of puckering, the hand sewn bottom that I'd left open to turn was all kinds of wonky and the face was way too delicate to translate to the felt form. The features just get lost and the pompadour just looks like a weird bulge. But at least I've gotten some experience and gained a little knowledge. I still like the idea of using silhouettes but I know that the next one is going to need to be much more exaggerated to get the point across. I'm trying to decide between Lincoln, Hitchock and Sherlock Holmes.jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-10669223682289118312011-01-22T22:30:00.004-05:002011-01-23T10:12:41.689-05:00Zombie Card<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi33CxmauVzyP-IOSmLJ1UePp_FtWiGEwG4rin5K_yYKR_gflavjDYS31BOko641k-gIc52Zcn8xVakXa1ooaaPq2yHNHMw8mASL0e3EuqIQxNe80ul6o2l9mQp08xSgoCYYnXyK9IQZe9Y/s1600/tinyzombie4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" s5="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi33CxmauVzyP-IOSmLJ1UePp_FtWiGEwG4rin5K_yYKR_gflavjDYS31BOko641k-gIc52Zcn8xVakXa1ooaaPq2yHNHMw8mASL0e3EuqIQxNe80ul6o2l9mQp08xSgoCYYnXyK9IQZe9Y/s320/tinyzombie4.jpg" width="192" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I'm very new to pie making but I got some pie pans for Christmas and wanted to give them a try. The last apple pie I made was in a cheesecake pan to give you an idea of what I was working with. Just a note that while a cheesecake pan gives lots of room for a super deep dish apple pie don't expect to ever be able to get a slice out of the thing. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5pcmPQi9S3dPMtHcnLHmLIsHS4bgYyhnXg_pHs98q_98H2NTU65DZN76bZl8zT-Ci46WpVWX4RoCKK3LDNhO7hI6LN2Zsae4Mg63trDWckstXxIphxa9BZfAd0lqacJaH7vy2TkvIDHLB/s1600/applepie2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5pcmPQi9S3dPMtHcnLHmLIsHS4bgYyhnXg_pHs98q_98H2NTU65DZN76bZl8zT-Ci46WpVWX4RoCKK3LDNhO7hI6LN2Zsae4Mg63trDWckstXxIphxa9BZfAd0lqacJaH7vy2TkvIDHLB/s400/applepie2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564141753807964786" /></a><br />I made a simple butter crust, trying my best to keep everything involved as cold as possible. I used granny smith apples tossed in a quick sugar/flour/cinnamon mixture. I did some snowflake cutouts from the top crust and threw on a sanding of sugar to try and class it up a little. It's definitely my best looking pie to date and it was pretty damn tasty, too, if I do say so. <br /><br />I made a pecan pie for Chris at the same time. Unfortunately, it was not a very photogenic pie so you'll just have to take my word that it existed. It made up for it's generally homeliness by tasting awesome. Everytime I make a pecan pie I'm shocked at the sheer simplicity of it. There's maybe five ingredients tossed in a mixer and sprinkled with crushed pecans (preferred in our household over whole pecans). <br /><br />Pies may not be the quickest treat to whip up but I'm looking forward to making my next one.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMwQHXnfjP16EbirG3qU_FI4yW2JcmIcetpSrSxTX6aXEbU3oZQkvMgsS25cDrFG6qqgxY5i1H0nIjMQPxjJZGuSSyF_T9cz8tI4AM9xm4kNaiAvxkfvALRJ7pERqOsM8STzTIeJoNV6LB/s1600/applepie1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMwQHXnfjP16EbirG3qU_FI4yW2JcmIcetpSrSxTX6aXEbU3oZQkvMgsS25cDrFG6qqgxY5i1H0nIjMQPxjJZGuSSyF_T9cz8tI4AM9xm4kNaiAvxkfvALRJ7pERqOsM8STzTIeJoNV6LB/s400/applepie1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564141749402604946" /></a>jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-41959603315189606532011-01-19T10:43:00.000-05:002011-01-20T11:21:38.156-05:00Tiny Braaaainss!!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbl7O10b1MYgCLRzA6IlbM8-Ivxfe2v1MBwbkQcoUDQhuqUqVZ28okazFDB4j2LqaYknnXYRqUPAgjdJu_Hl4rhAy8ZpCOPtSJrVJHKEhc-kDKujqKeGvfJS5WgcXfMscx4PjCXLU7SYEE/s1600/zombie3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbl7O10b1MYgCLRzA6IlbM8-Ivxfe2v1MBwbkQcoUDQhuqUqVZ28okazFDB4j2LqaYknnXYRqUPAgjdJu_Hl4rhAy8ZpCOPtSJrVJHKEhc-kDKujqKeGvfJS5WgcXfMscx4PjCXLU7SYEE/s400/zombie3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5563738957294804738" /></a><br />I'm no stranger to zombie making as you can see above. I made that guy in January of 2009 from the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/corporate-zombie">Corporate Zombie</a> pattern in Creepy Cute Crochet. These friends had really liked my original zombie and we had joked that I would teach them how to crochet so that they could make an army of zombies and leave them randomly around New York City to create a full on zombie invasion and maybe make someones day more interesting. So I never got a chance to teach either of them to crochet but I decided to make them a tiny zombie as a way to say that we missed them and maybe I'll send them a few more zombies throughout the year and they can start their zombie apocalypse on the West Coast.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNdzVHzLiB3Ikd62-FWTC7t0A7S2gvEmle931dXZ6LMHSPfsJtc5G3dQpOK9iGZSkjIQI8e2yoiHuEtiJ_RrSstGfmdbA2An3FaMS-To-tvmBci9AjtOJMVzrOkHVJ0acW_QHVFp8SkYqN/s1600/tinyzombie1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNdzVHzLiB3Ikd62-FWTC7t0A7S2gvEmle931dXZ6LMHSPfsJtc5G3dQpOK9iGZSkjIQI8e2yoiHuEtiJ_RrSstGfmdbA2An3FaMS-To-tvmBci9AjtOJMVzrOkHVJ0acW_QHVFp8SkYqN/s400/tinyzombie1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5563739883551275810" /></a><br />I'm really happy with how the tiny zombie came out. The Oreo gives you a sense of scale. This was a very tiny zombie. I wasn't sure if the pattern would hold up this small but I was pleasantly surprised. I think that the details are still cute and aren't so small that they get lost. I think the next zombie's going to be a girl just to switch things up.jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-55232466438048401952011-01-18T21:48:00.004-05:002011-01-18T23:07:33.050-05:00Swallowtail Shawl<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6Qhq1PLkPBE3AZwYtv0Z249ccp91L82YC66N7z9J6-5W7dQLs1EtRN2qJIpiyy3CXZTwAmI_5w8ytSh5xc3vmzNr_jq9e3uC_p2OsDl2GNAVkE1MT1VdOOXNt7xIMvyMsebSU5WmpXsQ7/s1600/Gramshawl3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6Qhq1PLkPBE3AZwYtv0Z249ccp91L82YC66N7z9J6-5W7dQLs1EtRN2qJIpiyy3CXZTwAmI_5w8ytSh5xc3vmzNr_jq9e3uC_p2OsDl2GNAVkE1MT1VdOOXNt7xIMvyMsebSU5WmpXsQ7/s400/Gramshawl3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5563724059778443842" /></a><br />I just finished knitting <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/swallowtail-shawl">The Swallowtail Shawl</a> by Evelyn Clark for my Chris' Gram. I am in love with this pattern. <br /><br />I knit it in Lion Brand Wool-Ease and it took just a tiny bit over two balls of yarn on size 10 needles. I mostly make toys so I'm like the opposite of a yarn snob. I love a good multi-use, work-horse sort of yarn and Lion Brand Wool-Ease (and Vanna's Choice) are my favorite picks for this. It's only about $3 a ball with a great range of colors and great continuity between dye lots. So for under $10 I've got this gorgeous shawl that's big, comfy and super soft and almost an entire ball left over that I'm thinking might become a pig or maybe some baby clothes for my new niece.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYULcySEfLls-Oox5Y8LfyntsmfNPYZC7KhoQ3WBi7GdLMdUlIvMHfRicGuqmFdW5AAqUAE3t3nyo9U2Ka3OLG8_k3xjDs_vZypQEO8be9505j7DAMA2GI6dnUHaEkHOSKbvvPHNo6mYG5/s1600/GramShawl4.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYULcySEfLls-Oox5Y8LfyntsmfNPYZC7KhoQ3WBi7GdLMdUlIvMHfRicGuqmFdW5AAqUAE3t3nyo9U2Ka3OLG8_k3xjDs_vZypQEO8be9505j7DAMA2GI6dnUHaEkHOSKbvvPHNo6mYG5/s400/GramShawl4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5563724065469929314" /></a><br />I was nervous when I started the section above with the lily of the valley nubbs because it seemed from the comments like other knitters ran into some trouble with this section. It did take a little while to get the hang of but I think it's so pretty. This section really sets the pattern apart from more basic shawls. <br /><br />I definitely want to make this again although I might have to try a few different ways to wear it. I tried the shawl on for Chris in the typical over the shoulders shawl way and he said, "wow, that's just added 10 years to you." So I need to find a shawl that doesn't scream grandma. Any ideas?jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-80560480204353635962011-01-02T23:03:00.003-05:002011-01-02T23:27:30.378-05:00Photo of the day<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJW2BJfyEbwyGtvfdhaGHNeVtxs4lY6kaAhWIKdWLBJuyZ5HSC4ohUu8fnKh5CQaCAWm-4D2VM30qEF8Foc49ksL2FRo-fJHtpJvFzo1Ektmbn1mUzGu0BriIJsiRE5GV4vbW-NkQjLCkj/s1600/selfportrait.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJW2BJfyEbwyGtvfdhaGHNeVtxs4lY6kaAhWIKdWLBJuyZ5HSC4ohUu8fnKh5CQaCAWm-4D2VM30qEF8Foc49ksL2FRo-fJHtpJvFzo1Ektmbn1mUzGu0BriIJsiRE5GV4vbW-NkQjLCkj/s320/selfportrait.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557805445126922226" /></a><br />I took an art history class one summer in college. One of my fellow students was taking a painting class and asked to draw me in profile. She said I had a very distinctive nose. The professor overheard the discussion after class and told me that I should be proud of my nose. He said that Napoleon would only promote people who had prominant noses because he thought it was a sign of strength of character. It's entirely possible that my professor was making that up. He was pretty weird. Even if he wasn't Napoleon was pretty weird but it did make me look at myself a little differently.jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-17729781982194300202011-01-02T01:14:00.000-05:002011-01-02T01:16:09.455-05:00Photo of the Day<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE1ZUhQ-WCGz8nygfrm0E_uYA0emXpifS3p-9oyxw0JjDeUgesdE4F3X6OO09wn_rQ6frKhLY8p8S6j1ko9-1RhQkk_ZLQzAmabsw9Zz63lzFsdPN9zqXPTCEhl2gFrNLrWR5EPnNcNwYg/s1600/darla12.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE1ZUhQ-WCGz8nygfrm0E_uYA0emXpifS3p-9oyxw0JjDeUgesdE4F3X6OO09wn_rQ6frKhLY8p8S6j1ko9-1RhQkk_ZLQzAmabsw9Zz63lzFsdPN9zqXPTCEhl2gFrNLrWR5EPnNcNwYg/s320/darla12.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557468345694261170" /></a>jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-2731810865903315672010-10-02T22:39:00.003-04:002010-10-02T22:54:02.725-04:00A&N WeddingTwo of my friends were married recently and I signed up for the momentous task of photographing it. I always find wedding photography to be insanely stressful. A million things are happening at once and if a shot gets missed then it's just gone and that's it. Plus I loathe shooting formals. They are so dull and always insanely rushed since everyone is waiting to get the bride and groom back. Anyway, my rant aside, they had a really beautiful wedding in Staten Island and I've been looking through the photos over the last week and really liking a lot of them. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdWmk1uUVWlUXOJx1zmoXlduvoNAPiAm4aANjnr51k7uthP3tJrXQshmE-8VYd_vtiCwa49GJ8d6Jb3yi9YyX5JaIEk9jJymQlHb7OpXlqTcQx1maOQKMMgGC_XtYWGxhM55sLWsvB5V7U/s1600/AN007_2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdWmk1uUVWlUXOJx1zmoXlduvoNAPiAm4aANjnr51k7uthP3tJrXQshmE-8VYd_vtiCwa49GJ8d6Jb3yi9YyX5JaIEk9jJymQlHb7OpXlqTcQx1maOQKMMgGC_XtYWGxhM55sLWsvB5V7U/s320/AN007_2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523645741859947394" /></a>The Bride looked beautiful in this birdcage veil.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfiNWyZDZjHzxza14o2ixlv1LtoD6nw8B3CnRz-yA-PuV-oi4FmTtGnNLJL5L6aEjTEBMaHSuwMlHNXDwVsVJxdK4B2UA8G698CGWbHpi_pUzLioR5B7EgQNghxmWn_fsoyKLuuTGv04oX/s1600/AN009_2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfiNWyZDZjHzxza14o2ixlv1LtoD6nw8B3CnRz-yA-PuV-oi4FmTtGnNLJL5L6aEjTEBMaHSuwMlHNXDwVsVJxdK4B2UA8G698CGWbHpi_pUzLioR5B7EgQNghxmWn_fsoyKLuuTGv04oX/s320/AN009_2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523645745594890418" /></a> The groom and groomsmen rocked some Reservoir Dogs style.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVyZaPDXHus9P6-rknXSx7UQWnf3XL7eeFvcHHibusxw2bDHaBphp22OXuD5Xao0xuSVEV8bBPo0N5_eewDudSschTDMRgcP043FC0MC2baglfOxR9zNG9TtFlMVLit6aWUnWc4awqEDsn/s1600/AN011_1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVyZaPDXHus9P6-rknXSx7UQWnf3XL7eeFvcHHibusxw2bDHaBphp22OXuD5Xao0xuSVEV8bBPo0N5_eewDudSschTDMRgcP043FC0MC2baglfOxR9zNG9TtFlMVLit6aWUnWc4awqEDsn/s320/AN011_1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523645749650954562" /></a>As well as some very cool specially designed ties.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYbiC4abcARUfbkgG1m8lW7f_prxgbkZNk4gT0Yhk5VzF_JNWlxHeVf35fx0-l-P-gLPmwfEeHS6e4oaNvucMydln-49roL4j6ljR9gR_WWHocXRMGyh2TomR9X8mse83e4bA3AAF5vEFh/s1600/AN028_1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYbiC4abcARUfbkgG1m8lW7f_prxgbkZNk4gT0Yhk5VzF_JNWlxHeVf35fx0-l-P-gLPmwfEeHS6e4oaNvucMydln-49roL4j6ljR9gR_WWHocXRMGyh2TomR9X8mse83e4bA3AAF5vEFh/s320/AN028_1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523645752744390498" /></a> And they had an awesome old-school poloraid setup for all of the guests. I had high hopes to rise to that challenge but I totally sucked. But now it's October and I'm full of Halloween spirit and the weather is turning to that crisp, cool temp that just begs for knitting so this challenge came to mind. This time I hope to embrace it a little more fully. Especially since my mother-in-law just taught me to sew and bought me my very first sewing machine! I've already tasked Chris with sketching a monster for me to plushify. <br /><br />I definitely have a backlog of crafted items that I've got to catch up on so I'll do the roundup here. First, there's a couple of items for my sister-in-law's new baby. Man, was today hot, though! I walked from the bottom of the cemetery up to the main gate at the very top and stayed for about 30 minutes to photograph and watch the events and then walked back. When I got home I was wasted. <br /><br />The re-enactors had some awesome outfits and great equipment. They fired muskets and cannons and made speeches detailing the history of that battle and the war. I love the expression on the kid in the photo above. He had one of the most elaborate outfits.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7UEul0dDX4pWtXLL0dOBEziM-ObB67yCtchuHrn8ilc6q2KL6g-oTajiLweAgizEDtXVRrpZqjA8wh23VZRp3Jgz4tu5zvQ5quzHPLcisH0nXV7uDa_VqHzvYm8ENuYG6oiNeo33SxKuw/s1600/Greenwood5.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7UEul0dDX4pWtXLL0dOBEziM-ObB67yCtchuHrn8ilc6q2KL6g-oTajiLweAgizEDtXVRrpZqjA8wh23VZRp3Jgz4tu5zvQ5quzHPLcisH0nXV7uDa_VqHzvYm8ENuYG6oiNeo33SxKuw/s320/Greenwood5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511076337453876738" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWvXIQKkvkLe7up6Kjn2icvnUyLQPRfq375qf3H1nFLmnjwhkYchaRMGF1GGwDaa5YAneV4jkTwdg1oll7q5ptz2gCR5rNhZDoVk-tq-T8InaxxIFjQPfKFc4p_YGcPo11bY6Bche8c80u/s1600/Greenwood11.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWvXIQKkvkLe7up6Kjn2icvnUyLQPRfq375qf3H1nFLmnjwhkYchaRMGF1GGwDaa5YAneV4jkTwdg1oll7q5ptz2gCR5rNhZDoVk-tq-T8InaxxIFjQPfKFc4p_YGcPo11bY6Bche8c80u/s320/Greenwood11.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511076326257072642" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjsKn9GayZzIWb5SucT9kRprD4nFEjfD5gcIvKh7gPyeDFDB-3EVTWmMWhsqVWbHsZRPwHRWJRjBAbXgkggC0d5UNr57_siUFhyphenhyphenmrgGLiW_uThIBf9BiSHd58nsUPPPFWJmAqmav7_B8At/s1600/Greenwood13.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjsKn9GayZzIWb5SucT9kRprD4nFEjfD5gcIvKh7gPyeDFDB-3EVTWmMWhsqVWbHsZRPwHRWJRjBAbXgkggC0d5UNr57_siUFhyphenhyphenmrgGLiW_uThIBf9BiSHd58nsUPPPFWJmAqmav7_B8At/s320/Greenwood13.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511076321741911298" /></a><br />After the main re-enactment (with musket fire and stuff) everyone marched up a battle hill. I'm actually not a huge french toast fan. Especially when we make it at home I just always feel like it's a little too eggy for me. However, I totally loved this receipe. I picked up a fresh loaf of sourdough bread at the store and followed his recipe for the batter. I added in a healthy helping of cinnamon and a dash of sugar and nutmeg as well. I was only able to stretch the batter out to cover four thickly sliced pieces of bread and not the six he says in the recipe but that was the perfect amount for us anyway. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EZNI3O4WOZTXLw78A7YZ-q6SDwmQO1Rb5oz01eLr3IvFIfWMG-ZMXX-fiMVBt96_rb2YqZdv8mR4GvnFB5rm66nTpoQFBn7uiHsXnGSjbJaqT_6uxk8LDQPW4eGSfbgfrAQGngf8OtGR/s1600/waffle2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EZNI3O4WOZTXLw78A7YZ-q6SDwmQO1Rb5oz01eLr3IvFIfWMG-ZMXX-fiMVBt96_rb2YqZdv8mR4GvnFB5rm66nTpoQFBn7uiHsXnGSjbJaqT_6uxk8LDQPW4eGSfbgfrAQGngf8OtGR/s320/waffle2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511070066577858514" /></a><br />I love how crisp the wafflemaker gets the bread and the little waffle dents are perfect for housing a flood of maple syrup. Add in a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a side of corned beef hash and Chris had his perfect birthday breakfast. I can't wait to try this recipe again with some fresh fruit and bacon. Now that would be my perfect birthday breakfast.jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-5517208029604029552010-07-11T23:33:00.003-04:002010-08-30T07:37:19.192-04:00Darla!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJnfq7Ct86fFeZULZzhtiFSno77TZob53dNa-3_RePs_dDIY9IgQ1esGlW44lyWDys533EaCOMloMrbirXBBFP3LtLJ_16PQH6Z7r7J3ozaiZmYsTpynRc3ACDCcA-qKtK-pVhElR4N2kA/s1600/darla1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJnfq7Ct86fFeZULZzhtiFSno77TZob53dNa-3_RePs_dDIY9IgQ1esGlW44lyWDys533EaCOMloMrbirXBBFP3LtLJ_16PQH6Z7r7J3ozaiZmYsTpynRc3ACDCcA-qKtK-pVhElR4N2kA/s320/darla1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492858131286967106" /></a><br />Chris and I got a puppy about a week ago. It started out as a pig from <a href="http://host31.spidergraphics.com/yrn/doc/351LolaCurlyPig.pdf">this pattern</a> but the face just looked too pointy to me. Chris stepped in and suggested that it looked like a fox so I winged an equally fat fox tail and gave it a try. I modified the <a href="http://www.caron.com/projects/op/op_bunny.html">pattern</a> a little to make the bunny a smaller since I didn't have enough yarn for the full size. I also changed to ears from crochet to knit and knit them in two halves that where then seamed. I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpiqKMGoBwmpqac0ufEyxdKDlJBwyUI80XkJcNKMwPi688qWKgonrNBbhh6RB87bw4VgKS9RzANS_x0STLrrx8NQYqXP-N9GeIlK5dhgA2oQndNYoD5LCEtrn40Y66nimnagZFFZMIeSrU/s1600/bunny2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpiqKMGoBwmpqac0ufEyxdKDlJBwyUI80XkJcNKMwPi688qWKgonrNBbhh6RB87bw4VgKS9RzANS_x0STLrrx8NQYqXP-N9GeIlK5dhgA2oQndNYoD5LCEtrn40Y66nimnagZFFZMIeSrU/s400/bunny2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469316928480876162" /></a>jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-72182207787116943762010-05-04T00:44:00.003-04:002010-05-04T00:51:21.061-04:00The beginnings of a bunny<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1drDQocV3ibikQarBICIWnM-XH8p54HGdRG6E5SlaaH4vRojMXo5D5mibAqkErpObPnJWdJNLJN6VuCyx0NuMPLiTLNTbNsXHFRZe7r-7V3KHQpkVQmw5gAqUQg9kuVFZhe2iiopnQPlz/s1600/bunnyinprogress.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1drDQocV3ibikQarBICIWnM-XH8p54HGdRG6E5SlaaH4vRojMXo5D5mibAqkErpObPnJWdJNLJN6VuCyx0NuMPLiTLNTbNsXHFRZe7r-7V3KHQpkVQmw5gAqUQg9kuVFZhe2iiopnQPlz/s400/bunnyinprogress.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467271388394696066" /></a><br />You can't really tell from this photo but this is going to be a bunny, if all goes well. This little toy is a heavily modified version of the Caron One Skein Bunny. The original pattern makes a bunny about twice his size and that was just a little more than I wanted to take on, plus I didn't have enough yarn for that. So I scaled down the head and body from the pattern and then made the legs and arms more like the arms of the teddy bear that I just finished. <br /><br />I'm sort of winging the ears though so that might take some trial and error. They're going to be big, floppy ears with pink on the inside to add a nice bit of color and cuteness. I'm hoping to have this one finished up this week so that I can start on the third toy this weekend. I haven't decided what to make next. I've got a very cute pig pattern from my page a day calendar so I might give that a try.jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5984548686349125138.post-52373032708426265062010-05-04T00:34:00.002-04:002010-05-04T00:42:10.730-04:00Bear is Done!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYPOcOindqBTO_tmoEo5r0E2vLTzHegUak4LGgGhX46JEK0hyngLkJe6v-ljK5__uwYKSTx9HiSfypuODeV8EQ070ZNavlM6vhrTJCLhsu53gNNTcIN6d31SALWZnk6jcA1Q75uBZS6wSp/s1600/beardone2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYPOcOindqBTO_tmoEo5r0E2vLTzHegUak4LGgGhX46JEK0hyngLkJe6v-ljK5__uwYKSTx9HiSfypuODeV8EQ070ZNavlM6vhrTJCLhsu53gNNTcIN6d31SALWZnk6jcA1Q75uBZS6wSp/s400/beardone2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467269565776433666" /></a><br />The bear is done! The pattern is from lionbrand.com and he's the perfect size to use up the ecological wool that I had left over from the Hemlock Blanket. I made him a little scarf in Bernat Satin that was lying around. He does have legs but I haven't attached them yet. I'm hoping to finish him up this weekend and move on to the next project.jeanne wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08486477878158813410noreply@blogger.com0
